Is it too early for a Christmas countdown?

At least we’re not hanging lights, but Christmas is only 74 days away as of today.

EGAD will host its annual Holiday Window Contest like last year. They will be visible on December 6, the Holiday Tree Lighting on Friday night from 6-9 pm. Bring the gang down and watch our gorgeous tree be lit up to officially start the season. Hear seasonal music, strolling vintage singers, and have an Irish coffee or two and then hit the avenue and the boulevard and get your shopping done.

Actually, ArtWorks of Eau Gallie is on Saturday, November 23, all day on Highland Avenue and shopping should definitely start there!

You can find something for everyone in the district. From Ace Hardware’s Yeti collection to VIP tickets to Whiskey in the District (Feb 8), plus all the little shops, restaurants and galleries with arts & crafts and so much more, you can do it! Shambala’s Gifts has one-of-a-kind fair trade jewelry, handbags and such. Surprise someone by framing a memory at Art Expressions, flat or 3-D. The Yoga Garden sells classes in bulk, the Eau Gallie Florist always has beautiful table-scape and home accessories and, of course, flowers—gift the botanical person in your life with year-round delivery, as often as you wish. Buds & Bows Flowers can help with that, too. Pre-order pies from Joan’s Pies and be ready all the way through New Year’s. It’s also the perfect hostess gift. Who doesn’t like pie? The manly man in your life should be treated to Traditionals Shaves Cuts & Brews. Elevate the whole experience; he’ll thank you for it. Of course, all the pubs and restaurants offer coupons and gifts, too, but would love to host your office or friends party. Don’t miss Fifth Avenue Art Gallery and Eau Gallery on December 6. They always carry creative baubles, pottery, art, ornaments, and things you didn’t know you just had to have until you see it. You can find all these shops on our directory. EGAD offers narrated tours of the murals on the third Saturday of each month. That’s how you entertain out of town guests and special arrangements can be made if those dates don’t work out and your group is large enough (so call some friends).

We love a challenge. If you have a difficult person to buy for, call us. We can help.
